NETWORK DEFENSE SECURITY ENGINEER (SENIOR)

BLACKHAWK Management Corporation is seeking a Senior Network Defense Security Engineer responsible for security architecture and technical security subject matter expert for all theater provided services. The candidate shall be responsible for the Information Assurance/Computer Network Defense (IA/CND) program which supports the Command Security Policy, plans, exercises, Certification and Accreditation and Incident Handling and Response.

Net Defense Security Engineer Duties: In-depth analysis and isolation of security intrusions, security incidents/compromises and viruses of CJOA-A network servers and clients Report incidents to JNCC-A director and USFOR-A and TNC-CENT IA Cell. Provide RCERT coordination in theater for Incident Response actions. Provide and maintain an effective security awareness and training program in accordance with Federal and DoD policies and standards. Review and provide input to USFOR-A Staff Taskers (with Government approval). Review of all JNCC-A CJOA-A IA server audit logs for analysis and determination of actual or attempted security breaches. In-depth analysis of security events triggered on JNCC-A routers, firewalls, IDS sensors, and Proxy Servers. Provide trend analysis of events; ensuring best security practices and identifying misrouted traffic IAVA Compliance Validation and Reporting Network and System Security reviews (reportable under FISMA); to include CTO and routine vulnerability scanning of HQ networks Conduct vulnerability assessments on new hardware/software. Maintain configuration of all JNCC-A Net Defense tools (i.e., firewalls, IDS, ADS, HIDS, eTrust, Security, Etc.)

Standards: Daily develop/review and implement USFOR-A / JNCC-A security policies, procedures, and standards and implement security controls Daily assist units with the determination of their security requirements and assess whether those requirements jeopardize the integrity of the data on the system Prepare and submit daily written incidents reports to JNCC-A director and USFOR-A and TNC-CENT IA Cell Weekly prepare and submit written reports on all JNCC-A CJOA-A IA server audit logs for analysis and determination of actual or attempted security breaches Provide monthly trend analysis of events reports; ensuring best security practices and identifying misrouted traffic Ensure compliance with CJCSM 6510.01, DoDI 8530.2, DoD Directive O- 8530.1, Computer Network Defense (CDN), dated January 8, 2001 and other applicable laws, directives, and instructions

Education: Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or Science or Business Administration or Mathematics. Specialized Certification: ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Any SANS Institute GIAC certification, Certified in any DoD approved Firewall Platform, any Cisco Professional Level certification preferred.

Specialized Experience: Three (3) years experience using and maintaining networks (TCP/IP, Ethernet, FDDI, or NetWare); three (3) years UNIX and/or Microsoft Windows experience; three (3) years experience with commercially accepted security devices (Firewalls, Proxy servers, Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems) two (2) years direct experience with U.S. military command and control or commercial LAN/WAN communication systems. Support the Network Security Infrastructure including Cisco PIX/ASA Firewall, Cisco IPS, Cisco CSA, Cisco ACS servers, F5 Firepass and RSA Authentication Manager In-depth knowledge of network management including LAN/WAN and Security. Support the WAN and LAN infrastructure including Cisco 2800, 3800 and 7200 routers, Cisco 3550/3750, 4500 and 6500 series Catalyst switches including Sup 720, NAM blades and other modules

Certification Level: CompTIA Security +, Sans Institute GSEC, ISC2 SSCP or Security Certified Program SCNP certification as required for Information Assurance Technical (IAT-II).
