Information Technology Support Specialist - Job location in Iraq only

Job Description:
Information Technology Support Specialists (ITSS) will perform duties that include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Continually reviewing hardware and software to ensure that it is responsive to user needs.

2. Creating and monitoring accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.

3. Monitoring system resources, applying the installation and integration of system fixes, workarounds, updates and enhancements to include performance, capacity, availability, serviceability and recoverability.

4. Maintaining systems configuration as well as resolving IT equipment/software interfaces and interoperability problems.

5. Utilizing the functions of specific applications such as but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Active Client and PureEdge. Additionally the contractor should possess a thorough understanding of, and ability to manipulate the features of Microsoft XP and Vista, including the Microsoft Management Console, registry settings, and Active Directory Users and Computers tools.

6. Performing customer service help desk/IT support duties and providing technical assistance to local functional users and/or IMOs to minimize disruptions.

7. Consulting with applications developers to determine the short term and long term effect on end user applications resulting from changes to the operating environment; e.g., new software or hardware installations.

8. Participating in the planning and execution of unit and systems testing, installing applications and images, providing technical support on execution problems and troubleshooting application packages.

9. Testing and analyzing computer malfunctions to resolve physical operating problems.

10. Responding to users’ requests for assistance in a timely manner.

11. Identifying and determining problems and the corrective action to be taken in case of hardware/software failure or in circumstances when prescribed procedures will not produce desired results.

12. Troubleshooting all aspects of the system, to include hardware, software, and communications lines.

13. Receiving, responding, and ensuring prompt and complete resolution of requests for assistance. Personally assisting customers, to rectify computer problems.

14. Maintaining a continuing awareness of technical changes in the areas of equipment technology and software development.

15. Providing reports as requested in order to track and review information technology support operations.

Qualifications:
The IT Support Specialist shall posses a bachelors degree in IT, computer science or a closely related field of study and have at least three years of related work experience. Active Secret Security Clearance.
